How do I maintain my gate?
Like most major equipment your gate and gate operator needs to be maintained. Maintenance should start by simply observing the gate, noting any unusual noises or behavior. Common preventable issues include insect intrusion which is often preventable by keeping the operator area sprayed for insects, keeping vegetation trimmed from the path of the gate and immediately around the gate opener. If your gate is equipped with grease fittings on either the hinges on a swing gate or on the rollers for a slide or cantilever gate those fittings should be greased at regular intervals. Generally quarterly will be a sufficient interval between service. Slide gates equipped with a chain should be lubricated auto regular basis. We recommend chains be lubricated with a bar and chain oil or other Uber can’t designed for roller chain at least once every quarter. Roller chain deterioration is a common problem with modern gate operators and is easily preventable with proper maintenance. Each gate opener is different and may have specific maintenance needs. Please follow the manufacturer recommendations for maintenance outlined in the user manual. If for any reason you run into issues that are concerning feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We can also come out to do an inspection on your gate, operator, or entry system at your request.
Do you warranty your service?
Our service is warrantied for 30 days from the completion date. If for any reason the same issue reappears or we determine that another issue was caused by our service we will come back without an additional service (trip) charge. There may be additional labor charges if an issue requires additional troubleshooting or service time. Installations are warrantied for one year including materials and labor. Individual equipment has at least a one year warranty. Limitations apply. See gatetechinc.com/warranties for additional information.
What does your installation warranty cover?
Any equipment we install includes our one-year service warranty. If you have any issues with the equipment we install, we will send a service technician out at no charge to address your issue within one year of the instillation date. If there are any manufacturing defects our service warranty would cover the labor portion of any repair within one year of instillation. The manufacturer warranty would cover any damaged components and is subject to their conditions. If you have any other questions regarding our warranty feel free to contact us.

Can I purchase a gate operator to install myself?
We strongly recommend against D.I.Y. instillation of gate openers primarily because it can be dangerous. Gate openers have the capability of injuring or killing someone and should only be installed by a knowledgeable and experienced dedication professional. Gate openers should be installed according to local regulations and address national safety standards.  In additions to safety concerns it will often void the manufacturers warranty. Don’t just take our word for it this is what the leading manufacturers have to say:
From doorking.com
  • Buying vehicular gate operators from an unknown web site that offers no installation means that the customer becomes responsible for the proper design, installation and maintenance of the gate system.
  • DoorKing does not provide direct warranty support to end-users who have purchased our products direct from unaffiliated web vendors.  Many of these web vendors do not offer warranty support or any post-sale support, often leaving you with costly options.
  • Automated vehicular gate systems must be installed in accordance with the UL-325 and ASTM F2200 Safety Standards, and are referenced in the IBC (International Building Code) and the IFC (International Fire Code). Most lay persons are unaware of, or are not familiar with, these standards and do not realize the potential hazards associated with an incorrectly designed or installed system. If an automated vehicular gate system is not properly designed, installed, used and maintained, serious injuries or death can result.
From Vikingaccsss.com
  • Purchasing from an unauthorized reseller may and usually does void the manufacturer’s warranty. This means that if the machine is damaged or defective, it will be your responsibility to repair or replace at your cost.
  • Safety is our main concern. Injury or death could occur due to improper installation and setup of any gate operator. You will be completely liable if not purchased and installed by an authorized dealer.
From Liftmaster.com
When purchasing from the Web, a consumer becomes responsible for the proper and safe design, installation, and operation of the gate system. This often leaves the consumer to locate and contract the installation, usually at a higher total cost than the consumer anticipated, versus, if the equipment and installation were originally purchased from a professional installing dealer. Even the most skilled Do-It-Yourselfers should not attempt to install most gate operators.
From Apollogate.com
Proper Installation: Installation of our product should be performed by a professional installer. Nice Apollo operators are NOT designed to be a Do It Yourself system. When purchasing from a website, you the customer, can incur additional costs associated with improper installation, you may not receive all the parts necessary for a complete system that meets your particular needs and may also void your warranty. Improper installation may also cause injury or death, a professional installer or dealer can insure the setup of the system is safe and proper. Dealer support: A professional installation company can provide post sales maintenance and warranty support. Our goal is for you to have a pleasant experience with a reliable product for years to come.
From AmericanAccess.com
To ensure proper installation of your new American Access Systems: access control keypad, card reader, controller, telephone entry system or fire box, it is recommended that a qualified access control technician complete your installation. Many design and installation concerns have been addressed, designed and approved by the vehicle access control industry’s American Fence Association. These operation and safety design considerations are provided to you by your local, qualified installer. There are many safety concerns that arise when designing a gate system, putting a gate in motion or automating a gate. Proper access control installation is critical to insure the performance and safety of all equipment installed on an automated gate or overhead door. The UL325 standard is provided to help with safety concerns of gates and gate operators. AAS recommends the use of a qualified access control installer for all maintenance and installation issues.
From the Door and access Systems Manufacturers Assoication (DASMA)
Installing a vehicular gate opener system is not a project for a do-it-yourselfer. Reason: gates are heavy, and these systems generate high levels of force that can create hazards if the system is not properly installed. Gate openers cannot be simply “plugged in.” They require detailed installation procedures, installation of secondary entrapment prevention devices, and installation of vehicular detection devices. They must also be installed in compliance with the UL 325 Safety Standard, and the gate itself needs to comply with ASTM F2200. If you need an automated vehicular gate system installed, contact a professional gate systems installation company.
Can you program my car?
We can program most remotes into a vehicles system. Each combination of vehicle and remote can program differently so we will need the vehicle make, model, and year as well as the transmitter type. Don’t worry if you don’t know or can’t read the type, we can usually identify the remote visually. There are some conflicts with certain remotes and vehicles. Contact us and we will be happy to help.
What credit cards do you take?
We accept ACH transfers, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover
Can I purchase your products at a retail store?
Currently all of our custom products are only sold by us. Feel free to call or stop by and we have a number of products available to view and we do sell remotes and other accessories to walk up customers.
Will you price match?
If you provide us with a comparable quote from another installing dealer we may choose to match pricing for a project. We want to make sure we are comparing the same or similar work. Often times we include things that may add to the upfront project cost but can prevent issues in the future. This may include surge suppression, bollards, additional safety devices or device setup and programming.
